MON 4 - MOVIES FOR CHILDREN --  at South Plainfield Public Library, 10:30 AM will be   Each movie is suitable for family viewing and will be presented free of charge.  Also on August 4^th & 11^th, there will be a Kidcraft program at 6:30PM  for children age 6 & over.  Pre-registration is registration is required; there is a $1.00 materials fee, payable upon registration.  For more information, contact the South Plainfield Public Library at (908) 754-7885.

MON 11 -- BABYSITTING WORKSHOP -- The Middlesex County Dept. of Public Health will be holding a babysitting workshop on Monday, August 11^th, and Tuesday, August 12^th.  Each session will run from 10AM-1PM, and will be held in the South Plainfield Borough Hall (across the parking lot from the Library).  The workshop is for young people age 11 & over, and will teach basic child care skills including household safety and discipline.  The workshop is being presented free; space is limited, so pre-registration is required.  For more information, call the Library at (908) 754-7885.

THU 14 -  YOUNG ADULT MOVIE -  The South Plainfield Public Library will have a a young adult movie screening on Thursday, August 14^th, at 6:30PM.  The program is open to young adults from grades 5-12; the movie is rated PG-13.  Refreshments will be served; pre-registration is required. SUN 7 - 12th ANNUAL NY/NJ BAYKEEPER(R) CLAMBAKE -- A special day-long fundraising event to celebrate the outstanding work by several cutting-edge environmentalists.  The event will be held at the Ft. NOTES FROM THE
SOUTH PLAINFIELD PUBLIC LIBRARY

 Children’s story programs will be held through most of August.  “Storytime”, for children age 3 & over, will be held on Tuesday mornings at 10:30, Wednesday evenings at 6:30 and Thursday afternoons at 1:15.  “Time for 2’s & 3’s”, for children age 2 & 3, will be held on Wednesday & Thursday mornings at 10:30.  And “Books & Babies”, for children age 3 & under, will be held on Friday mornings at 10:30.  Each program lasts about an hour and features stories, songs and a craft activity for older children.  No pre-registration is required.  Please be advised that the story programs will be cancelled starting August 26^th and throughout September.
